Sorry about the background colour but it is as close as I could get to NATO green.

As it happens, she was previously blue so was perhaps an RAF or RN vehicle originally. I must get around to sending the Heritage Motor Centre some money to see what they know.

This is my current Land Rover and although it looks tidy in this photo there is some serious restoration needed. The rear cross-member is certainly shot so a ¼ chassis is going to be needed, along with at least one outrigger and a few chassis patches. The bulkhead is also pretty bad but Ebay recently came up with a '90' bulkhead that has been converted for a lightweight. For £75 it will be a cost effective solution if all goes to plan.

I have already disposed of the big tyres for something more original. Although I don't rule out taking it off-road, I shall be running it primarily as a classic car so appearance is more important than ground clearance or traction.

Mechanically and electrically, she seems to be reasonably OK, although the previous owner had been driving her around in low box with the transmission brake partially seized on so I suspect he may have damaged the front transmission.

More detail and pictures to come soon.
